Polyurea's intensive properties allow it to withstand ponding water better than most other products, including silicone systems. On flat roof systems, polyurea can hold water almost indefinitely. They are commonly used for waste water treatment plants & for erosion control.
Polyurea systems exhibit combined excellent tensile strength(~5600psi), high elongation values(140-400%, and good wear and tear propagation resistance(~340 LB/IN). The membrane also provides lasting crack bridging properties.
Due to it's nature, Polyurea has a quick return to service. Watertight in under 1 minute and available to traffic in 2 hours. Metal roofing seams will be watertight quickly.
Fluid-applied coatings can go directly over an existing roof, with polyurea being able to go over concrete, metal, mod bit, EPDM, wood, PVC, TPO, BUR, Duro-last and more.
